HSEQ Policy

The company’s HSEQ Policy and objectives apply equally to its employees, Contractors, Consultants, Clients, suppliers, agents and other Third Parties engaged in work for, or on behalf of the Company or associated with Company activities.
 
The company will assure training and education to all employees to operate in an HSEQ conducive manner.
 
It is our policy in the Company that in the conduct of our activities we take foremost account of the health and safety of all persons.
 
Our HSEQ objectives have equal status with our other primary business objectives and line management is responsible for implementing them.
 
Within the framework of this policy and from starting point of full compliance with legislative requirements and group standards we will strive to:
  • prevent all accidents
  • prevent all occupational diseases and promote health of our employees
  • create a healthy and safe working place for our employees and contractors
  • ensure safe working practice
  • develop individual personal responsibility for HSEQ
  • require contractors working on our behalf to apply to our HSEQ standards
In order to achieve the above objectives of excellent health- & safety- performance the following efforts are required by all employees:
  • to act responsibly in order to prevent injury to themselves or fellow workers
  • to be conversant with and apply to the principles and procedures of the Company’s Safety Management System, including any documentation referenced within the System, and any personal duties and responsibilities outlined within it
  • to bring to the attention of the appointed Safety Officer onboard, or the Safety Manager/ Designated Person ashore, any accident, dangerous occurrences, near misses or potential risks to Health & Safety and actively participate in any subsequent investigation
  • to ensure that all equipment provided in the interests of health and safety is readily available as required, properly used and to report any deficiencies with such equipment. Such equipment should not be misused
If Employees act irresponsibly in this respect, they may be subject to disciplinary action per their contract of employment/code of conduct. Neglect of health and safety requirements will be regarded as serious as any other disciplinary matters.
 
The Company will believe that this policy will contribute positively to the quality of life of its employees, the standard of all our operations, the safety of the public, the safeguarding of the environment and to business success.
 
The Chief Executive of REM MARITIME AS carries the ultimate responsibility for the Company’s commitment to HSEQ.  Each and every employee is expected to be dedicated to being an integral part of this commitment. The H&S Policy shall be endorsed by the General Manager and dated whenever it is revised.
